Errata

Opsomer, J. D., Jensen, H. H. & Pan, S. (2003) An Evaluation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Security Measure with Generalized Linear Mixed Models. J. Nutr. 133: 421–427.

The last three sentences of the third paragraph of the "Results" Section (p. 424, right column) are incorrect. They should read: "In other words, respondents who were interviewed over the phone were 15% less likely to answer yes to any question than they were to answer no, compared to those who were not interviewed over the phone. An effect of that magnitude is generally considered weak."

Choi, Yean-Jung, Kang, Jung-Sook, Park, Jung Han Yoon, Lee, Yong-Jin, Choi, Jung-Suk and Kang, Young-Hee. (2003) Polyphenolic Flavonoids Differ in Their Antiapoptotic Efficacy in Hydrogen Peroxide-Treated Human Vascular Endothelial Cells. J. Nutr. 133: 985–991.

On page 989, Figure 6 contains an error. The blot labeled as caspase-3 is a duplicate of the bcl-2 blot. The legend, which was correct, and the revised Figure 6 appear below.

FIGURE 6 Bci-2 and bax protein expression levels and caspase-3 cleavage in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) exposed to 0.25 mmol/L H2O2 for 30 min and incubated with flavonoids. The total HUVEC protein extract (100 µg) per lane was electrophoresed on 12 or 15% SDS-PAGE gels, followed by Western blot analysis with a primary antibody against bci-2, bax or caspase-3. ß-Actin protein was used as an internal control. Bands are representative of 5 independent experiments.
