In the section "Biotin-dependent carboxylases" (p. 889, left column), data for biotin-deficient and "physiologic" cells are reversed. The sentence should read: "When cells were cultured in biotin-deficient medium for 4 wk, activities of PCC were 1.9 ± 1.2 pmol bicarbonate/(10⁶ cells x min) compared with 19 ± 0.7 pmol bicarbonate/(10⁶ cells x min) in cells that were cultured in medium containing physiologic concentrations of biotin (P < 0.01, n = 6); activity of PCC was 40 ± 2.0 pmol bicarbonate/(10⁶ cells x min) if cells were cultured in medium containing pharmacologic concentrations of biotin (P < 0.01 vs. other treatment groups)."
