All authors accept responsibility for the integrity of the work reported and have seen and approved the manuscript as submitted. Authors understand that public release of information contained in the manuscript is embargoed until the mailing date of the Journal of Nutrition issue in which it appears. Authors will be billed for the following items color reproduction costs ($400/figure), author alterations to manuscript proofs, reprints, and page charges at $60/page. Page charges may be waived by the Society for acceptable reasons such as the lack of funding from grant or institutional sources as verified by an institutional official. Any existing financial arrangement between an author and a company whose product figures prominently in the submitted manuscript has been brought to the attention of the editor.
All rights, title and interest in the copyright to this manuscript, if accepted, are hereby transferred to The American Society for Nutritional Sciences (for US Government authors the provision applies only to the extent that copyright is transferable). This includes display of the accepted article in electronic form on the internet before and/or after print publication. The undersigned confirm that the manuscript contains no material that would violate the copyright or any other right of any other person. The authors reserve unto themselves the following rights the right to make copies for personal teaching use, and to reproduce reasonable quantities for personal use if 100 reprints are purchased; the right to reuse figures and tables in articles published in other books or journals (with bibliographic reference to The Journal of Nutrition); any proprietary rights other than copyright, including the right to any patentable subject matter contained in the manuscript and the right to deny any subsequent commercial use.
