Dose-related effect of 7-d ingestion of short-chain fructo-oligosaccharides (SC-FOS) on the percentage of fecal anaerobes represented by bifidobacteria in 5 groups of healthy volunteers. Bars indicate the percentage of total anaerobes represented by bifidobacteria for d1 and d8 in each group. Values are means ± SEM, n = 8 subjects per group.
