Jackbean urease was extracted and recrystallized three times. Subcutaneous injection of urease in sheep produced urease antibodies in blood and certain secretions. Concurrently urease activity in rumen fluid was reduced. Antiserum gave a positive precipitin ring reaction with ruminal urease. A surgical technique for the cannulation of the parotid duct of sheep is described.
