The arginine requirement for growth of the young rabbit was determined using a purified diet containing casein as the protein source. Two levels of nitrogen (2.75 and 3.75%) were fed. The optimal arginine level for growth was found to be 0.98 and 1.23% of the diet for the 2.75 and 3.75% nitrogen diets, respectively. Maximal feed utilization was observed at 0.86 and 0.99% arginine, respectively.
