The net protein value of a commercial blood fibrin fed at a 10% level to young male albino rats was found to be 76.6% ± 1.57 by the Thomas-Mitchell nitrogen balance technique. A shorter method employing carcass analysis yielded a result of 77.2% ± 1.83 when carcass nitrogen was determined directly and 80.8% ± 2.88 when carcass nitrogen was calculated from carcass water analysis and a predetermined N/H2O ratio.
