- 1. Chromium oxide and lignin excretion rates of three experimental animals have been studied.
- 2. The previous finding that one fecal sample is inadequate for the determination of digestibility has been confirmed.
- 3. Significant diurnal variations in the rate of chromium oxide and lignin excretion occur in dairy cattle.
- 4. The character of the diurnal variation has been described.
- 5. An improved sampling plan for ratio technique digestibility determinations has been proposed.
