When Jersey Buff turkey poults were fed a purified diet containing graded levels of vitamin A, 300 I.U. per 100 gm gave nearly as good growth as 500 I.U. or 600 I.U., but a level of 500 I.U. was necessary to prevent gross external and internal signs of A-avitaminosis. It is recognized that higher levels of vitamin A may be necessary for the prevention of microscopic signs of deficiency.
