1. Biotin and folic acid are required by mice maintained on
a completely artificial diet.
2. A severe biotin deficiency
in mice is characterized by alopecia.
3. Biotin and folic
acid deficiencies produced in mice on a
synthetic ration are
more acute when 0.6% sulfasuxidine is included
in this ration.
