1. Arsenic fed in non-toxic amounts (0.005% of the diet) hada slight, but not significant goiterogenic effect.
2. Whenthe concentration of arsenic was 0.02% of the diet, growth wasdecreased 50%, iodine concentration of the thyroidwas decreasedand the thyroid weight was significantly increased.
3. Fivetimes the minimum requirement of iodine when fed with0.02%arsenic produced an enlargement of questionable significance, but lowered the thyroid iodine concentration.
4. It was calculatedthat 0.02% arsenic in the diet more thandoubled the iodinerequirement.
