1 The characteristic highly unsaturated fatty acids of menhadenoil are deposited in the body fat of the white rat when theseacids are included in the diet.
2 Diets containing 5 to 30per cent of menhaden oil resultedin a deposition of highlyunsaturated acids from 9.7 to 17.2per cent.
3 In the dietsstudied, the content of highly unsaturated acidsof the depotfat was always higher than that of the diet.
4 The highlyunsaturated acids deposited were more unsaturatedthan thosefrom the original menhaden oil.
